Interweaving the arts of sculpture and installation, Thai Nhat minh’s solo exhibition last year, “The Birds” captured feelings of captivity and yearning for freedom through his wooden and aluminum birds.
More than 150 of Minh’s bird sculptures were exhibited in Hanoi’s Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. The venue was divided into 2 spaces: The first space with columns of 3-meter high bamboo sticks depicted a birdcage. The second featured arched bamboo, representing the birds’ flight path.
“The Birds” even received international notoriety when it selected to be showcased at the Asia Contemporary Art Show in Hong Kong.
We'll keep an eye out for any future exhibitions from Minh in Saigon.
