[Video] Local Students Make Impressive 3D Film On Retro Saigon

This local indie film, “Balloon” is worth 4 minutes of your eyes, ears and mind.

It short tells the story of a prisoner, who, when reflecting on his long sentence, conjures up a day from his innocent, worry-free past.

The entire film presents a 3D version of vintage Saigon, with its nostalgic sounds and sights, put to a soundtrack of Vietnamese ballads that perfectly match the film’s visuals.

Initially a school project, “Balloon” is the creation of 5 young Vietnamese students who are already contributing to the promising future of Vietnam’s film scene.
