The idea for Design to Order didn't begin in a fashion studio.
It began in classrooms.
For years, founder Dan Thu Pham worked as an educator, curriculum developer and advocate for Vietnamese language and cultural preservation. Throughout her professional journey, she noticed a recurring challenge faced by many women in leadership: finding workwear that felt both professional and deeply personal.

Too often, professional fashion demanded conformity. Clothing was expected to look polished, but rarely reflected the wearer's story, culture or individuality.
Design to Order emerged from a simple question:
What if professional clothing could be designed around the person instead of asking the person to fit the clothing?
The brand's first collection centers on custom-made workwear inspired by modern femininity and cultural expression.
Structured vests, tailored separates and elegant layering pieces are designed to accompany women through board meetings, classrooms, conferences and creative spaces.
One of the brand's signature designs is a floral tailored vest featuring soft botanical patterns layered onto a structured silhouette. The piece reflects the philosophy behind Design to Order: strength does not require sacrificing softness.

"Many professional women are expected to choose between being taken seriously and expressing themselves," says Pham."I wanted to create clothing that allows them to do both."

Unlike traditional fashion retailers, Design to Order follows a made-to-order model. Customers work directly with the brand to select fabrics, silhouettes and measurements, creating garments tailored to their lifestyle and preferences.
The approach reduces waste while fostering a more meaningful relationship between designer and wearer.
The influence of Vietnamese heritage can also be seen throughout the collection. Rather than replicating traditional garments, Design to Order draws inspiration from the elegance, craftsmanship and storytelling found within Vietnamese textile traditions.
For Pham, fashion is another form of education.
Just as language preserves identity, clothing can communicate values, memories and aspirations.
"Every garment tells a story," she explains. "I want our clients to feel that their story matters."
As Vietnam's creative industries continue to evolve, a new generation of entrepreneurs is finding innovative ways to bridge culture and contemporary design. Design to Order joins this movement by exploring how professional fashion can become more inclusive, expressive and sustainable.
The brand's future plans include expanding into executive wear, educator collections, cultural-inspired professional attire and custom wardrobe consulting.

In a world increasingly dominated by mass production, Design to Order offers something different: clothing created with intention, designed around the individual and rooted in the belief that confidence is never one-size-fits-all.
