THE BEST IBDP RESULTS IN HISTORY AT THE BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, HCMC
[Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, July 2021] — Students, teachers, parents and school community members at The British International School, Ho Chi Minh City are celebrating exceptional results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for the 2020/21 academic school year. The best IBDP results so far in the history of the school.
BIS HCMC achieved a pass rate of 100%, with a remarkable 6 students achieving a perfect score of 45 and a further 17 students celebrating a near perfect score of 44. The average score was an outstanding 40.4 out of 45 points, well above the IB global average of 33.02. The school and its student body were particularly thrilled with 66% of its students achieving a score of 40 or greater out of 45, whilst the world average is only 9%. This is the level of attainment required to gain admission to the world's elite universities, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard and Stanford.
These incredible results certainly widen the gap between BISHCMC school and many other IB schools in Vietnam, Asia, and around the world. These results showcase the difference that an education at BIS HCMC has on academic results for Vietnamese and International students from all over the world. BIS HCMC believes there is no limit to what students can achieve socially, personally and academically.
“I am so proud of this wonderful cohort of BIS HCMC students. The demand of the IB diploma in itself is immense, but to face this challenge as the world faces a global pandemic and its associated disruptions, takes it to another level. In these circumstances, to produce, as a group, such an outstanding set of results is a tremendous achievement - the best set of IB results ever produced by BIS HCMC. Many members of this cohort joined the school when they were two or three years old and have spent all their school life at BIS, with others joining at various stages of their schooling. Together as a group, they have shown themselves to be great ambassadors for BIS HCMC living the values and attributes that the school holds so dear through our Aide Memoire - always showing Integrity, Care, Respect, Perseverance, Reflection, Enquiry and they are truly ‘Global Citizens Learning Together. They deserve all the praise that they will get for this outstanding set of results, as will the school staff and parents who have guided them so well on their journey at BIS HCMC. I wish them all well as they move on to the next stage of their lives.” - Anthony Rowlands, Principal of British International School, HCMC.
