When the Rio Olympics rolled around, Vietnam was slow to get into spirit of the games. Truth be told, the country didn’t really hop on board with the magic of this summer's international competition until its first-ever Olympic gold came down the pipeline.
Japan, however, was stoked from the beginning. At the start of this month, the Land of the Rising Sun enthusiastically kicked off its Olympic coverage with a new theme song: the latest single from Japan's eight-member Wagakki Band, whose music fuses contemporary sounds with traditional Japanese instruments, reports Japan Today.
The song, titled “Kishikaisei”, or “Resuscitation”, has been used as the opening track for TV Tokyo’s live broadcast of Olympic events.
