The first time Liam Wong visited Tokyo, he was captivated by the buzzing energy of the Japanese capital. Enamored of its crowded streets and lively nightlife, Wong returned to Tokyo for a second trip, this time with a DSLR in hand.
What followed was, according to Bored Panda, a revelatory experience for the budding photographer.
“One night it rained and the city came to life,” Wong writes on the site. “I got lost in the beauty of Tokyo at night. I was fascinated by how the city lit up and I just kept taking picture after picture. It was like being inside Gaspar Noé’s film Enter The Void or living in the cyberpunk world that Syd Mead had created in Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner.”
The images below, snapped by Wong during his Tokyo visit, feature a surreal, almost eerie city at night, one that would not be out of place in a video game or futuristic world. Have a look below:
