Back Events Near Me » Healing Trauma through Creativity, Heritage, and Nature @ HCMC University of Culture

Welcome to our seminar on "Healing Trauma through Creativity, Heritage, and Nature," a timely exploration of the intersection between art, heritage, nature, and the healing of historical wounds. We gather to delve into how creative practices and natural metaphors, specifically the resilience and strength of bamboo, can provide support and solace to both the young and old members of the Vietnamese community.

Our focus today is inspired by a participatory art project showcased at the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City @BamunityVietnam 19/7/2024 - 8/08/2024 . This project shines a light on the generational impacts of war, illustrating how art, heritage, and nature can be powerful tools for healing trauma.

Ms Nguyen The Thanh, member of the Editorial Board of Urban People Magazine, will speak on integrating heritage and artistic expression, so that spaces like museums can become places of healing and reflection.

Dr Luan Pham, a community and heritage expert will explore how art initiatives can bridge generational gaps, bringing together young and old to share in the creation of meaningful art. Associate Professor Jane Gavan will delve into various artistic practices that have proven effective in promoting mindfulness and emotional recovery.

PLUS++ our passionate interns will speak on creative practices, and social media.
