Ầu Ơ… Dí Dầu…

The journey of the Playback Theatre Tour in Saigon still shows no signs of slowing down after nights filled with theatrical expression, storytelling, and community connection,... This time, the playback stage will offer a new experience, a very distinctive playback stage – through a collaboration with folk music.

The idea of combining playback theatre with traditional elements such as lullabies, hò, lý, and cải lương has been nurtured by us for more than a year, with the desire to “localize” Playback in Vietnam. More than just an artistic experiment, this is also a way to touch the flow of culture – where familiar memories and sounds have long existed together in everyday life.

“Ầu Ơ… Dí Dầu…” – sounds that have followed us since the cradle, weaving through the years, crossing all boundaries to touch something deeply shared within every person.

An evening performance that carries the sediment of tradition and the breath of the contemporary. One from the West, one from our homeland – yet sharing the same heartbeat: the heartbeat of stories being told, listened to, and reenacted.

“Ầu Ơ… Dí Dầu” warmly invites you to come together to tell – listen – and revisit the stories of individuals, of ourselves, within a space of memory: lullabies, folk chants, and lyrical melodies.
