The party crew out of BKK is hitting our city as a single unit for the first time, bringing with them their years of combined experience and the bags of deliciously rare vinyl that have earned them the admiration of countless dance floors across the region and beyond.
mAsa niwayama has been a long-standing ally of The Observatory since its earliest days, due in part to his consistent ability to bring a unique, specialized and particular approach to his sets, drawing on a vast collection of rare house and eclectic gems to produce a flow of sound that is as diverse and moving as an urban rainforest.
As well as being co-founder of Giant Swing - one of BKK's longest running underground party nights - mAsa has been invited to play in some of the most respected underground clubs in Japan, including the illustrious ‘Precious Hall’ of Sapporo - notorious for its uncompromising, high-cuff programming, unrivaled sound system, and deeply nuanced party-goers.
Which brings us to co-conspirator NKChan - another maestro that has likewise made the bill on the Precious Hall regularly and brings a highly specialized take on electronic rarity and flow that can only emerge through years of concentrated collecting and dedicated party-starting. Listening to his sets brings you into direct confrontation with the myriad possibilities and inflections of electronically-charged but organically-colored music from across the world, and is an audio safari to truly behold.
We can also expect some surprises in the form of an accompanying delegation of Giant Swing agents, which we can tell you from experience all means there is some seriously rare and great music coming our way.
Time to Swing.
