IMAX is finally coming to Vietnam next month with screenings of the seventh installment of the “Fast & Furious” franchise.

The screenings will take place at the CGV cinema at the VivoCity shopping mall in District 7, the country’s first IMAX theatre, reports Thanh Nien.

CGV, Vietnam’s largest chain of cinemas, hinted towards the release of further IMAX blockbusters in Vietnam including "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Terminator: Genesis," and "Jurassic World" on its website.

Ticket prices will be announced next week, but expect them to be a step above the rate for 2D and 3D films.

CGV has previously announced plans for a second IMAX theatre in Vietnam tough it has yet to reveal the location. The South Korean-owned company currently has operations in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Dong Nai, Saigon, Da Nang, Quang Ninh, Can Tho, Vung Tau, Binh Dinh and Binh Duong.

"CJ CGV is a world-class exhibitor and powerful force in the Asia Pacific entertainment market that has helped strengthen the IMAX brand throughout the region,"IMAX managing director, Asia Pacific, Don Savant said in a press release last month.
