Saigon to Face 4-Hour Water Supply Outage Tonight

Fill up your tanks - there may be a temporary disruption to the water supply in your hood tonight.

Water service to 15 out of the 24 districts in Saigon will be interrupted between midnight and 4am on June 22, reports VnExpress. The shutdown is due to planned maintenance work at the Thu Duc Water Plant, according to the Saigon Water Supply Corporation (Sawaco).

Specifically, supply will be off for the entirety of Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 9 and Thu Duc. For the other nine districts, details are as follows:

  • District 4: Wards 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14;
  • District 6: Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6;
  • District 7: Tan Thuan Dong Ward;
  • District 8: Wards 9, 10, 11;
  • District 10: Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15;
  • District 11: Wards 4, 6, 7, 12, 13, 15, 16;
  • Tan Binh District: Wards 1,2,3,6;
  • Phu Nhuan District: Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17;
  • Binh Thanh District: Wards 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28.

While the outage will take place during the wee hours of tomorrow, Sawaco also warns that some households may experience low pressure or turbid water supply right after service resumes. If you happen to live in one of the affected areas, it may be wise to take an early shower and stock up on a few extra bottles of water before hitting the sack tonight.
