Vingroup is moving quickly with its plan to roll out locally made cars with a set of new designs for the company’s sedans and SUVs.
According to Tuoi Tre, Vingroup recently revealed 20 designs for its Vinfast-brand cars and a dedicated website where the public could vote for their favorites.
The models shown were the creations of four foreign studios: Pininfarina, Zagato, Torino and ItalDesign. These outfits were also the studios behind designs for notable brands such as Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar, etc.
The newspaper also added that ItalDesign and Torino took inspirations from Vietnamese iconic subjects such as terrace fields in northern provinces. However, it’s difficult to see how these imageries were implemented in the actual designs.
Vingroup also launched a campaign allowing citizens to vote for their favorite car models. Follow this link to cast your vote.
Last month, the conglomerate announced that it was breaking ground on a car factory based in Hai Phong province. The construction is expected to take two years.
