Here’s another good reason to stay away from methamphetamines – they may lead you to cut off a family member’s limb.
Hanoi police arrested Tran Thanh Duy last week for severing the leg of his sister, Tran Thi Dung with a fruit knife as she suffered a seizure.
Ba Dinh District police said that Duy’s niece, Hang, helped hold her mother down during the gruesome act. Some nurses speculated that it was a premeditated strategy to expel ghosts from Dung's body.
Unfortunately, by the time hospital staff arrived to the scene, it was too late to reattach Dung’s foot.
Dung, 47, is undergoing treatment at the hospital for a brain tumor and was given a blood transfusion after the attack.
According to police Duy is a known drug addict and had used meth before the attack.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
