Ace Hardware opens its first-ever store in Vietnam on November 22.
Based in Illinois, Ace Hardware is the world’s largest retail cooperative with 5,200 locations across 70 markets. Titled ACE Home Center, the first store is located on the fourth floor of Van Hanh Mall in District 10, covers a total area of 2,500 square meters, VnExpress reports.
The products that the ACE Home Center Vietnam store offers range across 11 categories including home appliances, home decor, lawn and gardening equipment, automotive parts and accessories, pet supplies, outdoor and camping equipment, hand and power tools, cleaning accessories, eclectronics, hardware and plumbing supplies.
Before entering Vietnam, Ace Hardware has established its presence in the Philippines, South Korea and Indonesia. It has distribution centers in the United States, China, Panama and the United Arab Emirates.
The corporation said that in the next 10 years, they want to open between 20 to 40 outlets more in Vietnam before breaking into the markets in Cambodia, Laos and Bangladesh, according to the news source. Ace also adds that they want to be the biggest hardware retail chain in Vietnam.
Ace Hardware’s representative said that with impressive economic growth in the last decade and changing consumer behaviors, Vietnam is a viable market for the corporation to enter in 2019.
