Expats aren’t the only ones who can rap in Vietnam. Not only does the country boast an up and coming group of young hip-hop artists such as Suboi, but also award winning rapping newscasters.
“Rapping the news,” a video series from Vietnam Plus wherein the hosts well, rap the news, has been named one of the winners of the World Young Reader Prizes, the annual awards presented by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), reports Tuoi Tre.
The series, which debuted on November 12, 2013 features two to four rapping presenters who cover popular local, international, entertainment and sports news over a catchy beat.
“Rapping the news,” took home the top prize in the Digital First category that is intended to honor “the news publisher that most creatively engages the young through mobile telephones, tablets and other digital devices,” according to WAN-IFRA.
“WAN-IFRA, based in Paris (France) and Frankfurt (Germany) with subsidiaries in Singapore and India, is the global organization of the world’s newspapers and news publishers.
It represents more than 18,000 publications, 15,000 online sites and over 3,000 companies in more than 120 countries,” wrote Tuoi Tre.
