If you’ve visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum over the past few years, you’ve probably noticed a large structure going up just outside its gates. This is the country’s new Parliament building which held its first session on the morning of October 21.
The 5-story (plus 3 underground), 39m tall building has been under construction since 2009 and sits on a 60,000sqm plot of land, according to VN Express.
Though the façade is square in shape, most of the meeting rooms and rounded, one of which can accommodate 1,000 viewers. TVs are placed throughout the building to enable public view of the congressional goings-on.
