David Beckham Arrives In Hanoi To Massive Crowds

Retired star footballer, David Beckham, arrived in Hanoi yesterday afternoon where he unsurprisingly caused quite a stir.

Press access to the former Manchester United and England captain was tightly controlled, forcing photographers to snap shots from a distance after he arrived at the Metropole Hotel.

Beckham then headed off to meet local business partners at 57 Ly Thuong Kietto promote his new drink, Haig Club, a joint venture with Simon Fuller and distributed by Diageo.

“The single grain scotch whisky is created from liquid sourced from the Cameronbridge distillery. The product is also comprised of a variety of aged whisky from three types of cask: first-fill, rejuvenated and refill Bourbon barrels,” according to the Daily Mail.

Beckham will fly to HCMC today to meet with local press at an unofficial briefing where neither cameras nor cell phones will be allowed.

This is his third trip to Vietnam following visits in 2003 and 2005.

Go crazy, folks.
