Nha Trang authorities are planning to install a loudspeaker system on city beaches to “promote local tourism, improve rescue activity, and issue warnings to tourists regarding robberies and rip-offs.”
Nha Trang has attained a less than ideal reputation in recent years for rip offs, robberies and various other petty crimes. Plans for the VND 400 Million (~$19,000) speaker system were announced by Dinh Van Cuong, head of the city’s Department of Culture and Information in a People’s Committee meeting on Monday, reports Tuoi Tre.
In addition to the super useful information, instrumental and chamber music will be played from 4pm to 8pm for the enjoyment of beach-goers.
This scheme follows a measure put into place in mid-November in which safety teams escort tourists across the street in hotel dense areas.
It’s probably only a matter of time before Hotel California is put on an infinite loop.
