Hue is set to get a major riverside upgrade as local officials have submitted a proposal to build a boardwalk next to the Huong River later this year.
If approved, the US$6 million project would be funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and would stretch 380 meters from the Truong Tien Bridge to Hue Central Hospital.
In addition to providing pedestrians with a four-meter-wide wooden walkway, the project includes a restaurant, coffee shop, lotus garden and a mini entertainment stage which would lie in a new tourism zone bound by Ly Tu Trong Park and the Nguyen Dinh Chieu walking street.
The project, which is pending final approval and public feedback, would take about 10 months to implement.
