When to Watch Tonight’s Supermoon in Vietnam

Tonight, Vietnam will be able to see the biggest and brightest supermoon since 1948.

According to NASA, around 8:52pm this evening the moon will appear 14% closer and 30% brighter than your average full moon.

Vu The Hoang, chairman of the Hanoi Amateur Astronomers, told VnExpress that observers will be able to enjoy this phenomenon on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

"When the moon is near the horizon, it can look unnaturally large when viewed through trees, buildings, or other foreground objects," writes NASA. "The effect is an optical illusion, but that fact doesn’t take away from the experience.”

NASA also reports that earthlings will see another supermoon next month, the last time such an event will occur until 2034.
