TSN’s International Terminal Adds Free Napping, Play Areas

Saigon’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport continues to step up its amenity game as the airport has recently added a sleep zone and a children’s play place to its offerings.

The recreational and resting area is part of the airport’s US$60 million expansion of its international terminal, which should help take the load off Tan Son Nhat’s overstrained infrastructure, reports VnExpress.

While we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the new terminal that will nearly double the airport’s international capacity from 13 million passengers to 23 million, the 100-square-meter sleeping room is fit out with 20 lounge chairs and readily available for napping or Netflix binge watching while you wait for your flight.

The news site also dropped a few new details about the forthcoming terminal – it will be 23% larger than the current one and will have 120 check-in counters and 19 boarding gates, up from 80 and 12, respectively.

After being ranked one of the worst airports in the world, authorities have been scrambling to improve service across the board with short-term fixes – from stronger WiFi to better food offerings – to support aviation officials' long-term vision.

This is all in an effort to buy some time as Long Thanh Airport – set to take over international flights from Tan Son Nhat once it's complete – slowly chugs along.
