Man Arrested For Allegedly Murdering Vietnamese Woman In Singapore

Yesterday afternoon, Singaporean police responded to a “call for assistance” from an apartment block on Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 and, upon their arrival at the scene, found the body of an unidentified Vietnamese national.

Neighbors told The Straits Times that they heard “yelling, sounds of dishes smashing and then a woman's frightened cries” that morning and police apprehended a man, identified as “Jack,” who had abrasions on his cheek and forehead.

The man was said to have brought numerous women of Vietnamese and Thai descent back to his apartment over the years though some long-time residents of the building said that he had never caused any trouble. However, others stated that in recent months, they had heard “quarreling between [Jack] and unidentified women.”

He is expected to be charged with murder tomorrow.

Police said investigations are ongoing.
