[Photos] 13 Black-and-White Shots of Saigon in 1962

Badass girl power, young love and vintage cars: the streets of Saigon in 1962 seemed much cooler than they are today, when pavements weren't riddled with debris and construction sites.

I don’t think we’ll ever get tired of old photos of Saigon, no matter which era they hail from: be it aerial perspectives of the city in 2002 or the awkward days of the late 1990s. In these black and white snapshots taken on the streets of District 1, the older generations of Saigoneers really put their urban swagger on display.

A trio of ladies in their Sunday best take a stroll on the sidewalk of Le Loi in áo dài, sunglasses and trendy hairdos; a couple hold hands while ambling in the sun — these are some of the most memorable scenes of the collection.
