Art deco is by far our favorite architectural style, one which luckily, Saigon has in spades. However, with each passing day, these buildings are being torn down to make way for modern structures which, some argue, are necessary to accommodate Saigon's massive growth.
This is a dangerous line of thinking as it could quickly lead to the extinction of these art deco gems. As other cities have found out the hard way, when you lose your architectural heritage, you also sacrifice a bit of your soul, and it's almost impossible to recapture.
