As we’ve seen before, photos taken by American military personnel during the war often help to paint a picture of mid-1960s to early 1970s Vietnam. Such is the case with Bob Kelly’s album of 1967 Phan Thiet photos.

While the album, found in Flickr photo archivist manhhai’s collection, is a mixed bag of candid street shots and military operations, it is the former that gets our nostalgic juices flowing. Though the coastal city has developed quickly in recent decades, in the late 1960s it still retained its sleepy fishing village vibe, as seen in the photos below.
