[Photos] The Calm Austerity of Vung Tau in the Late 1960s

Whether it's 2017 or the late 1960s, Vung Tau is a sleepy coastal town that exudes charm.

In this collection of photos, taken by a man known only as Peter Edwards, 1960s Vung Tau seems like an entirely different world when compared to the wealth and splendor of Saigon during the same era. What really stands out is the austerity and natural beauty of its undeveloped beaches: a few visitors here and there, clean patches of sand and even a whole abandoned ship.
