The Debut Saigoneer Podcast Episode Is Available Now!

The debut episode of the Saigoneer Podcast is now online!

Following the release of our preview episode just before Christmas, we are thrilled to announce the arrival of our first full podcast show.

In this episode, we discuss the pros and cons of street food vendors in Southeast Asia receiving international recognition from the likes of the Michelin Guide, as well as Vietnamese representation on the big screen in recent movies such as Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Downsizing.

Our interview segment features a conversation on Saigon's sidewalk-clearing campaign with Annette Kim, an associate professor of public policy and director of the Spatial Analysis Lab at the University of Southern California. Kim wrote the 2015 book Sidewalk City: Remapping Public Space in Ho Chi Minh City.

We hope you enjoy the episode, which is available on the Apple Podcast app and CastBox for Android. Don't forget to write us a review so that we know what you think!

This episode was recorded in late December.
