BackArts & Culture » [Podcast] Renovation Generation: The Incredible Talents of Mew Amazing

For their latest episode, the crew behind Hanoi-based The Renovation Generation made a trip down to Saigon for a coffee with Mew Amazing, the singer-songwriter behind Truc Nhan’s pop hit “That Bat Ngo”.

The rising star, whose real name is Le Duc Hung, began his songwriting career at the age of 25 and has since injected new life into Vietnamese music, an industry he says is prone to favoring carbon-copy songs over originality.

In episode 12 of Renovation Generation, Mew Amazing talks about earning a place for Asian artists on the international stage, creating music that pushes boundaries and what he would say to Drake if they ever met.
