ECHOING MINI-TRIP | CHỢ LỚN STORIES 09.04

ECHOING MINI-TRIP is a shortened history-cultural-religious learning walking tour held regularly on Thursday mornings every week. With a shorter route and simplified food and drink activities, while still ensuring all the essential content of Echoing Trip, Echoing Mini-Trip reduces the cost to better suit students, participants who cannot arrange time on weekends, or those who are unable to walk longer distances.

ECHOING MINI-TRIP | CHỢ LỚN STORIES is a 2.5 km walking trip over three and a half hours, exploring the space of the old Chợ Lớn area through the distinctive cultural and spiritual activities of the Hoa community. The program helps participants gain an overview of Chinese migration in general and begin to understand the different resident-cultural groups within the broader community: Minh Hương, Cantonese, Fujianese, Teochew, together with their distinctive spiritual practices.

Location: Phường Chợ Lớn, TPHCM.
Estimated time: 8:30AM - 12:00PM, Thursday, 09.04.2026.
Program fee: 395,000 VND, including: drinking water, pastries, offerings, guide, audio device, and materials.

Itinerary: learning and visiting stops include: Đình Minh Hương Gia Thạnh (learn about the oldest Chinese migrant group) → Huệ Huệ Bakery (visit the bakery workshop, enjoy pastries and herbal drink) → Nghĩa An Hội Quán (understand the Teochew community, the worship of Quan Thánh Đế Quân, and the practices of fortune stick drawing and crawling under the horse’s belly) -> Hẻm Chợ Lớn xưa -> Ôn Lăng Hội Quán (learn about common deities in folk beliefs, observe the “beating the petty person” ritual).

Program conditions: Minimum 5 participants and maximum 12 participants.

Refund policy:

• If the program does not take place because the minimum number of participants is not reached: the registration fee will be reserved for the next session; if after 3 consecutive sessions there are still not enough participants for the program to take place, or if the participant cannot arrange the time: 100% refund.
• If the program does not take place due to an error from the organizing team or the guide: 100% refund.
• In all other cases: no refund.

Policy for children: The program accepts participants aged 10 and above, with no difference in pricing compared to adults.
