It all started innocently enough. It was about 6 months ago when the deciBel guys and a group of friends, after complaining that it was often too complicated to match working schedules to arrange a dinner all together, decided to combine work and pleasure AKA every week friends would take turns to cook a meal at deciBel for the others.
Two weeks later it exploded, the voice spread and now every Tuesday the place is packed with people who come eat for free (you need to purchase one drink at least). It is all about sharing, spending time together and passion for food.
Each week an amateur chef cooks his/her own favourite or country’s traditional dish. So far they had Gratin Dauphinois (France), Chicken with green curry (Thailand), Tortillas (Spain), Chicken curry (India), Pytt I panna (Sweden), Chicken and waffles (USA) and many more.
This week they will have ‘Arancini’, a popular traditional Sicilian (Italy) dish that dates back to the 10th century; deep fried rice balls staffed with ragu’, peas and mozzarella cheese.
What more? I will be cooking them.
If you want to be a chef for one night and share your favourite food with other people, just write to deciBel Lounge.
