Is there a better way to while away time at the airport than to orchestrate an impromptu music performance?

That is exactly what happened at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on Monday evening when a group of young adults decided to liven up the waiting lounge to the tune of 'Canon in D,' reports Tuoi Tre.

YouTube footage of the scene shows members of the Maius Philharmonic Orchestra one by one stepping away from their seats in the room and uniting for a performance of the classic work by the German Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel.

About 12 orchestra members were involved, slowly gathering into a circle to perform the song with hundreds of onlookers waiting for their flights in attendance. The musicians were waiting to board a flight back to Hanoi that night after their performance on the Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street.

“Everything was spontaneous, and the positive reaction we received was totally unexpected,” Luu Quang Minh, the orchestra's conductor, told the news source. “We only wanted to ease the boredom of waiting for ourselves and other passengers.”

The surprise performance apparently hit the right note, as seemingly bored passengers quickly pulled out their smartphones to record the moment. That is, until a security guard politely intervened.

“That was nice, but next time you guys should play somewhere else, as it is not allowed here,” he was recorded saying in the footage.

The Maius Philharmonic Orchestra is the first privately owned orchestra in Vietnam, according to VietnamNet. They are renowned for similar impromptu gigs on the streets of Hanoi, wowing passersby with rearranged takes on classic hits such as 'Uptown Funk', 'Shape of You' and even Vietnam's national anthem.
