Back Arts & Culture » Music & Art » London Symphony Orchestra to Perform in Ly Thai To Park on October 6

The performance is part of the Inspire Me Festival, a two-day event which celebrates 45 years of diplomatic relations between the UK and Vietnam.

Although this specific event celebrates diplomatic relations, an outdoor classical concert is held annually, with last year’s Vietnam Airlines Classic – Hanoi Concert taking place in the same area.

This year’s concert will be around 100 minutes long, held from 7pm to 9pm on October 6. The concert will take place near the Ly Thai To statue and along the walking streets that border the park.

Elim Cham, a highly celebrated Hong Kong-born conductor, will lead the orchestra through renditions of both local and foreign compositions, including classics by Van Cao, Dvorak, Sibelius and Mendelssohn.

In order to make the concert accessible to all audience members, two large screens will be installed on Dinh Tien Hoang Street, while a sub-stage will stand in Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.

The event also falls on the same day as Hanoi Pride 2018, with a walking parade and bike rally taking place earlier in the day.
