Kelly Clarkson, winner of American Idol 2002 and performer of formulaic pop ballads, will make her way to Vietnam in December to entertain crowds at this year’s Miss Vietnam pageant finale in Phu Quoc.
Clarkson’s performance will be broadcast live on VTV1 December 6 from the Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort which will host the pageant, reports Tuoi Tre.
The organizers - Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper and the People’s Committee of Kien Giang Province - hope that Clarkson will help boost the profile of the event and make Phu Quoc an attractive destination for similar events.
Her hit "Stronger" became immensely popular in Vietnam since a portion of the 2011 music video was filmed in Saigon.
Just in case you were thinking of registering (because why not?), you will now need to be unmarried to compete at Miss Vietnam 2014 though the minimum height requirement has been lowered to 1.62m from 1.65m (Yay?).
Oh, and you’ll have to listen to Kelly Clarkson for an extended period of time.
