[Updated] Vietnam Releases First Domestic Smartphone

[Update Below] Well, we may be a step behind North Korea but Vietnam has just released its first, domestically produced smartphone fittingly named the Lotus.

The internals of VNPT’s VIVAS Lotus S1 are pretty standard - a five-inch screen, 1Ghz processor, 512mb of ram, 5mp camera and 4GB of storage, expandable to 32gb via microSD cards.

It runs Android 4.0.4 and has WIFI and 3G connectivity in addition to Bluetooth and GPS.

The Lotus is priced at VND3.9 million, a bit less than imported handsets with similar specs.

Anyone pick up one of these bad boys yet?
