Vietnam's internet cable issues have continued, as one of the country's undersea connections encountered a glitch last week, just as repairs on two other cables were being completed.
VnExpress reports that the Asia-Pacific Gateway (APG) ran into an unspecified problem last Saturday in the section running between Vietnam and Singapore.
That same day, repairs were completed on the Asia-America Gateway (AAG), which went down in early November. The SEA-ME-WE 3 cable, another of Vietnam's major undersea internet cables, resumed normal operations in mid-November after experiencing its own problems in October.
Local ISPs have rerouted online traffic around the APG problem, and they are also currently working to determine exactly what happened, the news source shares.
This is the second time this year that the APG, which covers over 10,000 kilometers while connecting Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, has gone down.
There is no repair timeline available at this point.
