British retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) has grand plans for Vietnam expansion after seeing success in Thailand over the last few years, reports Inside Retail Asia.
The company has announced that it wil open a 1200sqm flagship store at Vincom Center on Dong Khoi Street this summer that will offer womenswear, menswear and lingerie as well as accessories, footwear and sleepwear.
Stores in Vietnam will be operated by the company’s Thai franchise partner, Central Group, which has plans to open 20 locations in the country by 2020.
“Growing our business with leading franchise partners like Central Group is an important part of our international growth strategy. With access to prime locations at key shopping malls across Vietnam and unrivalled local knowledge, Central Group is the ideal partner for us to open our new stores across the country,” said Bruce Findlay, regional director for Asia at Marks & Spencer.
Considering how excited our British friends are, this must be kind of a big deal.
