Telecom giant, FPT announced that repairs to the broken Internet cable that connects SE Asia and North America will be fixed by next Wednesday, July 30, reports Tuoi Tre.
The disruption has slowed connection speeds between Vietnam and websites hosted in the U.S., Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and Europe. Transmission within Vietnam remains normal.
The cable, which broke on July 15, is the conduit for 60% - 70% of the data that flows between Vietnam and countries overseas.
Have you encountered a noticeable speed difference since the cable broke?
