Though Vietnam is struggling to keep its tourism numbers up, the country’s finance ministry has proposed raising visa fees for tourists and overseas Vietnamese.

Here are some of the fees being recommended under the new rules being drafted by The Ministry of Finance, according to Tuoi Tre:

  • Single-entry visa fees will rise from US$25 to $45.
  • Three-month multiple-entry visa fees will rise from $50 to $65.
  • For multiple-entry visas more than six months fees will rise from $100 to up to $255.

If you’re looking to get a Vietnamese visa on the cheap, your best bet is to arrive by air or sea as this will only set you back $5.
