The network, scheduled to launch in October, will serve more than 1,000 people per day and will be operated by the Saigon Post and Telecommunications Service JSC. Plans are also in the works to expand free WIFI to other locations in the province, reports Thanh Nien.
Vung Tau joins Da Nang and Hoi An as other Vietnamese hot spots that offer free WIFI.
Earlier this week, it was announced that the long stalled Saigon-Vung Tau hydrofoil route would be restored this November with a set of new high-speed boats.
The vessels, designed by Vietnamese engineers and built to European standards, will be able to make the trip from the southern metropolis to the coastal city in one hour and 15 minutes at a cost of VND250,000 per person.
