The high-speed WIFI will blanket the entire street and will operate at speeds of up to 1Gbps, reports Tuoi Tre.

“The free WIFI [sic] will be available 24/7, ensuring that many people can access the Internet at the same time,” Nguyen Ngoc Tam, deputy director of VNPT Ho Chi Minh City told the press.

In addition to the free WIFI, the promenade will soon get 160 wooden benches with the first set scheduled to be installed in early June.

The benches are made from the ancient trees felled in front of the Municipal Theatre to make room for the new metro station.

Work on the walking street wrapped up earlier this month and its crown jewel, a new statue of Ho Chi Minh, was inaugurated on Sunday.
