Beginning at 9pm on Tuesday, 40 streets in downtown Hanoi will be closed for the National Day parade, Voice of Vietnam reports. Roughly 35,000 people are expected to participate in this year's festivities, which mark the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese independence.
The area around Ba Dinh Square will be most affected, including Hung Vuong, Hoang Dieu and Hoang Hoa Tham Streets. Trang Thi and Trang Tien Streets in Hoan Kiem District will also close, as well as a handful of roads in Tay Ho District.
Streets will reopen to traffic at noon on Wednesday, September 2.
