Yesterday, residents of the north-central province of Nghe An brutally attacked 2 dog thieves, leaving one dead and another seriously injured.
According to Colonel Le Xuan Diep, head of Yen Thanh District’s police force, the thieves had their bike burned and were beaten and bleeding when police arrived at the site in Tan Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District. Even then, locals blocked the path of the injured thieves as they were taken to the local hospital where one would eventually succumb to his injuries.
An easy target, dogs are stolen and sold for food at VND100,000 – VND200,000 per kilogram. As a result, these situations are common – last month, A Hai Duong was allegedly killed for the same act.
Police are investigating the incident.
