United States president Barack Obama will be arriving in Vietnam a day later than initially scheduled.
According to Thanh Nien, the American head of state will touch down in Hanoi on May 23. Though the exact details of his visit have not been disclosed, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the news outlet that President Obama will spend a full working day in Hanoi on the 23rd before flying to Saigon on the afternoon of May 24.
President Obama will also be accompanied by US Secretary of State John Kerry. The duo will meet with Vietnamese leadership to discuss fostering cooperation in the areas of economics, security and human rights. The Trans-Pacific Partnership is also expected to be a topic of conversation during the visit.
The American leader will then depart from Saigon on May 25 for Japan, where he will attend the G7 Summit.
