Jetstar Pacific Tops Vietnam's Most Delayed List in Q1 2017

Jetstar Pacific was the most-delayed domestic airline in the first quarter of 2017.

Tuoi Tre reports that the four Vietnamese carriers – Vietnamese Airlines (VNA), Jetstar, VietJet Air and VASCO – offered 55,251 total flights between January 1 and March 15. In total 7,059 of these flights were delayed, while 337 were canceled, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

Viet Nam News shares that out of 8,542 flights operated by Jetstar, 2,379 were delayed, accounting for 27.9% of their total and the most among domestic carriers. Another 174 flights were canceled.

Budget carrier VietJet saw 2,337 delays out of 19,015 flights, or 12.3% of their flight total, the news source reports.

National flag carrier VNA performed well, with 2,187 delayed flights out of a total of 25,494, or 8.6% of the total.

Passenger numbers throughout this period were high, Tuoi Tre adds. In the first quarter of the year, 22 million people flew through Vietnam's airports, a 16.1% increase over the same period last year.
