Hanoi's 5-Star Hotels Are Fully Booked Until Early 2018

For wealthy travelers, Hanoi seems to be the “it” destination to explore this year.

According to VnExpress, Hanoi’s tourism sector has faced “unprecedented demand” this year, and all of the capital’s five-star hotels are fully booked from now until the beginning of 2018.

The news source added that during the first six months of 2017, the city welcomed over 11 million tourists, 2 million more than the same period last year, amounting to a year-on-year increase of 13%.

Hanoi is currently home to some 600 hotels, VOV reports, but there are not enough high-end accommodations to cater to the growing demand from international travelers.

To capitalize on this opportunity, the city is expected to churn out more lodgings: in the next five years, about 20 more luxury hotels – some of which will be in the vicinity of Hoan Kiem Lake – will be up and running to expand Hanoi’s accommodation options.

At the moment, the Hanoitourist Travel Company is looking into constructing a brand-new hotel on Ba Trieu Street and renovating the Hoa Binh Hotel on Ly Thuong Kiet Street.

Hanoi authorities aim to reach 23.61 million tourists by the end of the year, with 4.3 million foreign visitors.
