Hanoi Reveals Train Designs for Metro Line 3, Seeks Public Feedback

While progress on Hanoi’s Cat Linh–Ha Dong metro route is inching close to the finish line, Hanoi transport authorities recently unveiled the design for the capital’s Metro Line 3.

The line, also known as the Nhon–Hanoi Station line, will span 12.5 kilometers across 12 stations. Once finished, it will serve residents from districts like Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, Dong Da and Hoan Kiem. Construction on the route is still ongoing, but transport officials have come up with a design for its trains and are looking for public feedback.

The trains were designed by French locomotive manufacturer Alstom, featuring an air-conditioning system, speakers, automatic LED lights and more. The interior is wheelchair accessible, and also includes dedicated space and seating for senior citizens, pregnant women and children, according to Zing.

Color-wise, the design follows a “Green Journey” theme inspired by Vietnam’s landscapes and agricultural products. The exterior and some inside accents are painted pink and green, the colors resemble rice fields and dragon fruits.

Netizens can head to major online news sources like VnExpress, Zing and Thanh Nien to answer some survey questions regarding the new design. Additionally, the train management team will also distribute a full questionnaire along the metro line to gather feedback from local residents.
