New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019 will run from February 6 to February 13.

According to a recent announcement by global event organizer IMG, two Vietnamese designers, Phuong My and Cong Tri, will showcase their collections in New York Fashion Week's upcoming show. This will be the first time any Vietnamese designer has been invited to host their runway show at the famous event.

Hailing from Da Nang, 41-year-old designer Nguyen Cong Tri is one of Vietnam's most popular designers and has made a name for himself on the global haute couture fashion stage and among celebrities such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Jacqueline Fernandez and Gwen Stefani.

Tri will be showcasing his newest collection on February 11 at the event. Tri had collaborated with Kate Young, renowned fashion designers who have worked and collaborated with Dior, Chanel, Valentino and Victoria's Secret to prepare for this runway show.

Phuong My is a newcomer to Vietnam and the global fashion industry. The 30-year-old designer established her brand in 2013 and has since received extensive international coverage from international publications such as Vogue Italia and British Vogue. Her designs are especially well-received in Singapore, China and the Middle East. Phuong My's runway show at New York Fashion Week will take place on February 12.
