Dunkin’ Donuts Prepares to Open in Saigon

Watch out, Starbucks, there’s a new coffee chain coming to town. Dunkin’ Donuts, America’s leading coffee seller is preparing to open its doors in Phu My Hung in the next month.

John Vurughese, Global Vice President of Dunkin' Brands Group, wouldn’t disclose the costs of a franchise, but said that there are very strict guidelines for obtaining a license such as, financial ability and experience in the management and operation of a restaurant chain.

Apparently, the Vietnam Food & Beverages Services Limited Company (VFBS) of the Imex Pan Pacific Corporation, chaired by Mr. Jonathan Hanh Nguyen, met the strict criteria as they were selected as Dunkin’ Donuts’ franchise representative in Vietnam.

Market research firms NPD and CREST ranked Dunkin' Donuts as the leading U.S. coffee brand with more than 1.7 billion cups of coffee sold per year. It has more than 12,000 stores in 32 countries.

It’s no Krispy Kreme, but at least we’ll be able to grab a solid donut in Saigon.
