Saigon Blog Spotlight: SoJournaling Vietnam

Wanting to reconnect with his ancestral homeland, Kyle, a 23-year-old Viet Kieu from California, packed his bags and moved to Vietnam a few years ago. He has been traversing the country ever since and documents both his travels and experiences on his blog, SoJournaling Vietnam. Supplemented by his popular YouTube channel, he injects a bit of humor into the mundane via witty commentary and observational humor. Basically, the things we think, he says. And sometimes in a funny voice.

For those of us who don't speak Vietnamese, Kyle opens us up to a world of rich dialog. At a recent countryside wedding, he captured the sage words of a drunk uncle - "Did you know? He put me on the internet!" "Fuck the machine's mother."

Yes, this is what us non-Vietnamese speakers have been missing.

Head over to his blog and YouTube channel for commentary about everything from dating to travel.
