Apocalaughs Now @ Cargo

Professional alternative stand-up comedy returns to Saigon on Tuesday Jan. 21 at Cargo Bar.

Well-known accomplished comics Glenn Wool (Canada) and Mandy Knight (UK) will be flying into Saigon as part of a Southeast Asian tour that takes in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Jakarta, Bali and Ho Chi Minh City. These are both top-notch comics — Mandy Knight presently holds the UK Time Out award for the best female comic while Glenn Wool, with his unique persona is an industry favourite with accolades and TV appearances longer than his arm. 

Part of the bi-monthly Saigon Comedy Nights series supported by Comedy Club Asia, to add to the fun they will be joined onstage by two comics who are presently gracing the regular Stand-Up Saigon nights at The Spotted Cow and The Tavern — Steve Jackson and Tat Lay.

Cargo Bar is at 7 Nguyen Tat Thanh, Q4 and doors are at 8pm. For further information email saigoncomedynights@gmail.com. The entrance surcharge is VND250,000 and includes a free icy cold Magners cider. This event is supported by Magners original Irish cider

Glenn Wool (CAN)

Glenn began his comedy career in his hometown of Vancouver in 1995. He moved to London in 1998 and quickly became one of the rising stars of the London and international comedy circuit having performed in Australia, New Zealand, US, South Africa, Switzerland, France, Croatia and Arabia. Glenn was nominated for Best International Stand Up at The New Zealand Comedy Awards and Best Headliner at the Chortle Awards. In recent years Glenn has hit the international circuit in a big way, performing to huge crowds in Singapore, Holland, Dubai, New York and Los Angeles where he is currently living. This will be his second time performing in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mandy Knight (UK)

Mandy studied at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. Although a fully trained classical actress, she decided initially to work in stand up comedy. As a stand up she has headlined all over the world as well as appearing on numerous television and radio entertainment shows including: Live at Jongleurs, The Comedy Store and The Little Big Woman Radio Show.


Mandy is the current Time Out Best Female Comic and was the first female comic to compere for The Jongleurs Comedy chain.
